Sample at the "Black Friday 01" tasting on 01/22/2016. The beer is a dark ruby-brown color with a medium thin white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of raspberries, oak and malt. Medium body with an oaky raspberry character with some yeast and malt in the background. The finish is moderately tart with a raspberry aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/19/2015. Pours fairly crystal clear dark ruby red color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Slight spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big sour cherry, lemon, lime, green apple, plum, cherry, red wine, light vinegar, hay, straw, grass, light pepper, bread, toasted oak, light caramel/vanilla, musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, raspberries, oak barrel, and malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big cherry, lemon, lime, green apple, plum, cherry, red wine, light vinegar, hay, straw, grass, light pepper, bread, toasted oak, light caramel/vanilla, musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Moderate fruity/acidic tartness and yeast/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of cherry, lemon, lime, green apple, plum, cherry, red wine, light vinegar, hay, straw, grass, pepper, toasted oak, musty funk, light caramel/vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, raspberries, oak barrel, and malt flavors; with a great sweet/tart/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from acidity as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding fruited wild ale style! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, raspberries, oak barrel, and malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink with the balanced acidity. This has a lot of similar character to a Flanders red style as well. A highly enjoyable offering.

22 Oz bottle poured and shared by Tcon. Thanks! Awesome way to kick off a weekend that will certainly include this brewery. Pours a dark cloudy red with a fading fizz head. Fresh red raspberry aroma. Sour up front, then sweet. Lingering tart finish. Awesome stuff.

650 ml bottle, purchased at One Stop Market. Deep ruby color, thin head. Aroma is pretty nice, raspberry jam, mild vinegar, oak. Smells nice but it ends there.
Sharply acidic with a pucker that actually hurts my taste bud a bit. Vinegar is a bit overwhelming. Not sure if this is an off bottle or what but it’s hard to know if it is that or people just really love shitty sour ales? This is hardly drinkable.

Poured from bottle thanks Airforcehops for the Ratebeer Camp extravaganza. Nice amber color with a nice off white head. Aromas of sour fruit funk and oak. Taste follows aroma.

dark brown, no cloudiness. little bit of head that fades fast. smells pretty acetic with a little bit of sulphur. no raspberry. well, this is a fulll-on sour bomb. Raspberry only contributes to the insanity of this beer. Off bottle?

Bottle @ home, picked up at Supermarket Liquor Fort Collins for $13. Pours a dark maroon appearance with a thin brown head. The aroma is full of yogurt, cheese, parmesan, lemon, and raspberries. Moderately sour. Not overly complex. Just raspberry yogurt. A little acidic for my tastes. Some spices on the back of the palate. I certainly wouldn’t want to drink a full bomber of this and I’m not that certain I’d even take another pour of this again. It’s not bad, just awfully assertive and simplistic.
