Pours clear brown with a big frothy off-white head. The aroma contains caramel, malts, toffee, dried fruits and yeast. It tastes medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter. Good carbonation, medium body but a bit watery in texture. A decent but average Dubbel.

Dark brown color with big brownish dense head. Aroma of roasted malts, candi sugar, ripe fruits, plum, even some licorice, very nice. Taste of roasted malts, some yeast, again licorice. Bitter at first, then finish more sweet, but well balanced. Medium-strong carbonation, full body. A nice surprise this beer!

Bottle. Lidl. Clear, deep copper colour. Thin, dense, glossy, unbroken, beige head. Good looker. Nose is sugary, vinous, bready and nutty. Taste is sugary sweet. Some vine fruit, raisiny dryness. Sweet, thin and estery. Thin mouthfeel with too much fizz. Sweet, nutty finish. Doesn’t feel the ABV, but even at Lidl prices, I wouldn’t bother with this one again.

Bottle shared from the source. Nice picture of the horse palace on the label which reminds me of my walk to work at my last company. Not sure if that’s a good association to start with or not.. The beer itself is a hazy amber brown with a medium light tan head. Aroma is vegetal with big herbal notes, yeast, compost, light dark fruits and caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Earlier Rating: 3/7/2013 Total Score: 2.6Bottle shared thanks to Deanso. Pours hazy brown with an off white head. Diep donkerbruin helder bier met beige schuimkraag die redelijk snel weg trekt. Weinig aroma. Smaak licht bitter met in de verte een beetje caramel. Ietsje houtig in de nasmaak. Eerste beoordeling 6.3.4.3.10.
