Prickly Pear

Pint can. Watermelon aroma with notes of strawberry, prickly pear, raspberry and cherry. Pours magenta colored with a half a finger of tan head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with juicy watermelon, raspberry and cherry as well as having a lively mouthfeel. Finishes dry and quite tart with prickly pear and strawberry flavors. Nice sour, reminds me of a tart watermelon jolly rancher.

Draft. Orange beer with a dark cream head. Light tart and light floral aroma. Tart and light sour flavor with salt and fruitiness. Medium bodied. Light sourness and fruitiness (summer fruit and red fruit) linger.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated July 22, 2020. Aroma is fairly fruity with loads of prickly pear and lighter notes of citrus. Faint grain and alcohol notes. Pours a hazy, dusty, pinkish red with a small, fairly thin, slightly pink head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers for a bit before disappearing. No lacing or legs. Flavor is somewhat acidic with medium light sweetness. Faint grain and alcohol notes. Fairly strong prickly pear notes with light lemon and other citrus notes. Fairly light salinity, but it's present. Mouthfeel is light bodied with fairly high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer with a really forward prickly pear note. The salt notes are pretty light considering the fruit level. It's fairly sweet for a gose.

Can. Pours cleaer blush orange, medium off-white head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is prickly pear, strawberries, lemon. Flavor is light tart, light sweet. Medium body.

4 pack from popway, drunk fresh through well-aged, over the course of quite a few months.
Pours a bright, magenta-tinged cherry red with hot pink hues, as well. Yellowish head is small and recedes quickly to ring. Clarity is medium-high.
Juicy prickly pear also shows leather, earth, mineral; almost hibiscus-like. Very low lactic acidity, almost to the point of not getting anything tart, with honey and biscuit malt and other sugars from the fruit. There's a really lovely, round mineral character here, but that's about the extent of anything interesting.
In the mouth it's extremely soft, very low on carbonation and shockingly sweet. Like borderline syrupy. It bogs down the palate and dominates the beer, with very minimal tartness throughout and even the fruit character succumbing to it. All four cans were like this and even the can that was like 4 months old showed no sign of development in the can (was hoping it would attenuate a little bit more at least). The flavors are pretty good, but it's just way too god damned sweet.

From me wife: pours pinkish. Aroma is berries, lime, sour vagueness. Taste has a very interesting tangy fruitiness. Very cool and complex taste. Excellent.

Can thanks to Chow. Pours a hazy ruby with small white head that lasts. The aroma is lime zest, pear, berry, yogurt. Thin body, tart berry, cherry, lime, lacto, wheat, light acidity, enjoyed this.

Can from Cap Tap. Pours translucent pink with an arguably white head that rapidly departed. Aroma of slightly cooked something - maybe fruit. Hint of lacticness. Med body, sorta. Flavor is sweet/sour. Starts sweet, but there's quickly lime sour. Sort of mouthsmacking - not that it's super tasty, but the sweet/sour sort of causes that. Very different IHMO. Running out of sensible things to write.
