The St. Sebastiaan Golden is a golden, heavy fermented abbey beer with a distinctive fruity aroma and subtle hints of elaborately selected herbs. This St. Sebastiaan has a nice balance between sweet and bitter and has a nice full-bodied taste with a soft, malty aftertaste.

50cl bottle. Pours golden with initially a generous head which falls back to a nice layer of lace. The nose has pineapple and lemon zest. The taste has The palate is medium structured, with a big tangy/creamy texture and a dry tangy finish. Overall, this is a good example of a Belgian Blonde.

750ml bottle, as Grand Cru. Gold with a fluffy white head that collapses to an inch. Aroma of oranges, mandarins, dough, cloves. Taste is sweet with oranges and peaches followed by balancing spicy/ herbal bitterness. Some cloves, vanilla, white pepper. Mildly bitter spice finish with some alcohol. No great depth but bitterness keeps the sweet malts in check without obscuring them.

Bottle, 50cl ceramic. As St. Sebastiaan Grand Cru. Microfloaties in this one, else itβs clear. The color is golden and itβs topped by a dense, off-white head. Itβs sweet, sugary and fruity on the nose, as expected, with some faint spices and some apricot. The flavor is sweet and fruity with some warming alcohol. Some bitterness, but not enough. Full-bodied and slightly over carbonated. Fruity, sweet finish. Overall, too sweet but decent. 101126
