Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to snifter.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a finger's worth of eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: milk chocolate, spearmint, black licorice, light molasses-like tones; confectioner sugar
Flavor: that minty sweet to underlying spicy-like vibe with the milk chocolate - I believe I get what they're trying to do; finishes like a peppermint paddy to me
Texture: about medium bodied - maybe a touch under; good as a sipper: good smoothness to this beer
Overall: while I've talked with some of my friends who have had this beer and they say this tastes like toothpaste, to me, it's more like a peppermint paddy

2017 vintage. Pours black, medium sized , tanned, stable head. Scent is fairly intense. minthy indeed. Mint chewing gum, more specifically. Taste is roasty, sharp, bit boozy, chocolate. Minthy, more like toothpaste-like than chewing gum actually. It does kinda 'work' and is less bad than feared. Full body. medium carbo. OK.

Bottle. Pours black, medium creamy tan head, good lacing. Aroma is weird. Peppermint patty, black licorice, earth, molasses. Flavor is mediumn sweet, weirdly bitter, stale coffee. Fullish body.

Sampled draft @ BeerTemple. I knew that I was going to hate this but I needed to try it anyway. Black with little mocha head. Nose is pure toothpaste mint, peppermint, mint chewing gum, thin boozy plastic chocolate. Taste is bit better but still thin plastic chocolate with chewing gum peppermint and toothpaste. Okay I don’t get the USA love for mint chocolate but I don’t get why anything flavoured mint always needs to be peppermint and never the mint leaves you use in food and tea? Despite this tasting like an RIS with peppermint chewing the RIS base actually fully sucks thin plastic chocolate rubbish, fail on that point as well.

17.01.2019, 0,75l bottle shared with friends @ home:
Nice light brown slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish roasted, dark chocolate, mint leafs, dark malts, dark sugar, alcohol, oak, whiskey, sour-ish roasted grain, grass, minerals, bark. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish roasted, weeds, sour-ish roasted grain, cocoa, grass, mint leafs, bark, alcohol, oak, soil, whiskey. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh sour-ish boozy mouthfeel. Fair enough, kind of weird.

Sampled at Ace & Kees. Bottle. Black with tan head. Big sweet roasted malts with toothpaste. Big sweet and bitter with cool mint blasting through. Full body and soft carbonation. I don’t need this in my life.
