We made gold-fair, clear degustatiebier of 7,2°. it is of barley malt, leaven, water and of course Poperingse hops composed. What concerns the taste, is the first what the presence of a large hop bitterness is notable.

Bottle, 7.2%. Refreshing aroma, almost as if there is a tiny hint of Brett in there. The flavour does not suggests so, though. Clear golden colour. Good stable white head. Hay flavour, a bit of grain sourness. OK, but nothing extraordinary.

Bottle at The Palace Hotel, Poperinge. Blond, thick rocky off white head. It’s an ok slightly wheaty blond beer. Slightly cereally aroma, some citrus hop on finish. Minimal yeast character. It’s a pretty standard Belgian blond, with more wheat beer character and less estery yeast/spice. OK, if a little unexciting.

Brewed for the 2005 hops festival in Poperinge, they had so much left over that they bottled it. It’s very much like a less hoppy version of the Poperinge Hommelbier. Nice enough, easy to drink.

Bottled at the hop museum in Poperinge. Clear golden, creamy head. Sweaty orange aroma. Dryish with clean mouthfeel, some orange jam and bitter almond. Freshly hoppy with long bitter finish. Pleasant, but with less character than the Hommelbier.

Tap at ’t Brugs Beertje. Nice hoppy aroma. Golden color with a creamy white head, lacing head. Creamy lightly sweet pale malt with a trace of kandi and persistent mild hop flowing through it. Flowery hop. Finishes balanced. Rather refined.
