Anna Valiquette Hill (1902-1993) was Edward’s older sister, whose memory we honor with her namesake Farmstead® ale crafted with Vermont wildflower honey. A few barrels of the beer that had aged more than four months were further conditioned atop red raspberry and blackberry pomace, along with fresh black currant juice for nearly three months. The result showcases each fruit’s essence in harmony within the canvas of the iconic base beer—a variant worthy of her graceful, distinctive middle name.⁣

Bottle at home in Canaan, picked up via trade. Cheers! Vintage bottled 15 July 2020. Pours clear, dull pink-gold with a small, foamy white topping. Lightly sweet with sturdy tart berry character, a bit of lemony acidity, seedy raspberry, low funk, a little pale wood. Light in body with spritzy, massaging carbonation. Tart and quenching to finish, lightly salty, with a little tart cherry, more lemon, tangy raspberry. Refreshing and delicious.

375 mL bottled Apr 7, 2020, drunk 8/12/23. Clear copper-rosé, small, off-white head to ring slowly. Floral, citrusy, juicy, good tartness. Lots of lemon and yogurt. Very dry, tart, light cracker from malt, big currant acidity, almost wax and plastery mineral. Juicy, tart, lots of lactic and fruit acidity but with soft malts. Great depth, tight carbonation and balance. Juicy as hell. Anna gets so good as it ages!

Bottle sample at a Yana's tasting at Max's place. Cloudy orange. Funk, wood, rustic, cobwebs, fruitiness, dry, mildly sourish. Very good.
