Bottled from Decicco. Poured an ultra-viscous deep black motor oil. Slow forming dark tan head. Deep roasted malt and dark chocolate aroma. Rye notes, a bit of bourbon & vanilla as well. Chewy and delicious.

Draft pour at Bambinos. A larger pour than it was supposed to be, but with how smooth this is, I really can't complain. Jet black pour, and thick. Basically a syrup of a stout as far as consistency goes. Rich chocolate dominant aroma. Such a smooth, mild (as much as a double digit Russian imperial can be) pour here. Lingering chocolate constant. This beer is quite the experience. Bourbon, roasted malts, all secondary to the chocolate. Wife wants to throw up tasting it. Good. More for me.

Bottle shared on the 42nd floor - picked up at New Beer Distributors in NYC. Pours oily black with a dense, tight brown cream head. The nose holds well roasted malts, cocoa, light age, scorched earth. Medium sweet flavor with a lot of ashy wood, bitter dark chocolate, brown sugar, earth, leather. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with average carbonation. Lightly warming finish plenty more bitter dark chocolate, burnt earth, woody dryness, hints of dried dark fruits. Really good stuff. It’s got a hard edge to it.

Bottle big thanks to Leighton at level 42. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The aroma is rich roast, dark filthy roast, espresso, dark chocolate, toasted marshmallow and rocky road. The taste is rich, bitter, rich roast, burnt toast, umami, liquorice, charred wood, ashy, coffee grounds and light acidity with a dry, toasted finish. Full body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Great aroma, but the taste is a bit charred. Good fun overall.
