Anna (1902-1993) was Edward's sister; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. We selected a few wine barrels of her namesake beer—aged just over six months—and conditioned them further on a blend of dessert pears and Siberian pears from Elmore Roots Nursery in nearby Elmore, Vt. It is a delicate, expressive representation of Vermont's summer and annual autumn harvest.

Bottle at home in Canaan - picked up via trade. Cheers! Pours clear yellow with a fizzy, quickly fading white head. Light sweet flavour with subtle jammy and tart pear, some tangy green apple, decent kick of acidity. Light bodied with subtle, spritzy carbonation. Finishes with further tart pear, lemon, Granny Smith, refreshing dryness. Sound.

Brewery draught, 12/16/22. Clear, lemony-brass-golden. Small, white head to cover/ring. Beautifully aged Anna with very low pear character, just light fleshy juiciness, well integrated with the saison aspects. Cracker, biscuit, mineral, bright citrus and soft tannin. Clean, no alcohol, very nice aroma strength. A bit more pear in the flavor, juicy and soft, with light Brett suggestions, various Sacch loveliness and lots of mineral/plastery goodness. It's soft, round, yet with a good acidity and brightness. Can taste some waxy, phenolic honey fermentation character on the finish, I think. Anna is my favorite of the main line of saisons and this does not disappoint.

375ml bottle. Tartish, funky and slightly fruity with hints of grass, hay and pear, some farmyard and earthiness. Refreshin and balanced.

Bottle thanks to William. Pours a cloudy yellow with small white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is pear, earth, pepper, oak, funk. Thin body, pear, mineral, oak, delicate finish, enjoyed this.
