Anna was Edward's older sister; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land once home to her and her 13 siblings. In our ongoing endeavor to showcase various fruits within the tapestry of our Farmstead® ales, we offer this new variant of her namesake beer. We selected a few wine barrels of Anna and conditioned the beer for more than two months on Montmorency cherries from Burtt's Orchard in Cabot, Vt. The result is a complex, elegant expression of the 2019 Vermont harvest.

375mL bottle at the brewery, 5/21/25.
Clear cherry-amber. Small, pinkish head quickly to edge.
Meaty, juicy, rich, super fruity cherry with mild medicinal. Definite funky barnyard with a bit of Brett and lacto lingering. Crusty malts.
Cherry is bright and fruity but is quickly joined by heavy lactic sourness. Chewy cherry pie filling with a bit of buttery goodness and tart cherry acids lingering. Sour, for sure, but with some chewy grain character dulling it a touch. A bit lighter bodied than I'd prefer here; a bit more malt depth would go farther towards soaking up more acid.

Thanks CT for sharing the bottle! Wineglass showing translucent cranberry red.

The nose shows intense and tart notes of cherries and cherry pie.

The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Extremely tart with light sour cherries and a mild sweetness throughout.

Bottle at home in Canaan. Picked up via trade. Cheers! Pours lightly hazed dull pink with a small, creamy white head. Light sweet flavour with sharp acidity, a little seedy bitterness, tart cherry, lemon, low funk. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Sharp, tart finish with more strong acidity, berries, cherry. A touch too sharp but otherwise quite nice.

Bottle thanks to Julian. Pours a cloudy ruby with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is cherry skin, berry, oak, funk. Slick body, tart cherry, oak, light funk, acidic but not overpowering, enjoyed this.

Beer #3500! This one has that mouth watering tartness to it. Definitely one of the rougher beers I've had from HF, almost reminds me of Trillium sours. Starts out quite crisp and clean and the intense tartness coats the palate immediately after.
