2015 bottle tasted 2020: Small off white head left a spotty cover on an unclear pale reddish brown still body. Caramel & sherry aroma. Full bodied, smooth, oily & greasy leaving a cloying back. Sweet berries, stewed fruit, caramel, malts, raspberry, jam, oak, slightly woody & sherry tastes. This is tasty! 2005 bottle tasted 2019: Full bodied, oily, viscous, greasy & soft over the tongue with no carbonation. Caramel, wine, sherry, raspberry, malt & jam tastes. This beer is deffo past its best but I'm working through a box of 2005-2018 versions of this beer so things will improve.

11th Nov 2019; monthly beer tasting in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Cheers Simon for the 2005 version in a 275ml bottle. The misty mahogany body held floaters below the wispy head. Sweet Barley Wine with a few Cobweb's giving it a slight 'musty' feel overall. Would like to have had the bottle 10 years ago!

275ml bottle (2005) @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Nov 19. Thanks Simon for this! Pours deep dark hazed brown, pale tan head. Oxidised nose, rich sweet malt. Taste is richly sweet, sharp, smooth oxidisation, dried dark fruit, butterscotch, fruitcake, super sweet sherry.. rich, sweet, oxidised barley wine. Not for me.

2005 bottle from Lithy. Orange color, hazy. Vinous, sherry like aroma with raisin. Very sweet flavor with sherry. Vinous with pineapple, plums and oak. Some earthy bitterness in the aftertaste.The cask lagering gives depth and complexity to an otherwise onedimensional sweet beer.

Bottle. Rad Beer. 2015 vintage. Clear, copper red. Fine halo of beige. Nose has sweet grape. Raisins. Dates. Old wood. Some leather. Taste is fairly sweet, with a vine fruit dryness. Some woody bitterness. Medium body. Fine carbonation. Nice balance of sweet, vinous dryness, and woody bitterness to finish.

Bottle split in the Bruxelles fart dungeon, picked up online, 08/12/18. Murky mahogany brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is lIght oxidisation, splash of xoy xauce, dried fruits, dusty, raisins, dates, stewed fruits, ladies nickers. Taste comprises brown sugar, fruit cake, sweet malts, raisins, mellow sherry tang, oak, stewed fruits, residual sugars. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with mellow boost. Solid stuff ... has aged well if a tad sweet.

Can shared in the Brussels Airbnb. A pale brown amber coloured pour with no head. Aroma is sherry. Sweet dried fruits, raisin loaf, nutty. Some aged malts on the nose. Flavour is composed of medium sticky sweet. Cakey malts, rasin light wood,. Palate is sticky sweet, cakey, brown sugars,. Toffee. Warming alcohol.. Aged very well.

8 3 8 3 18 Bottle shared, 2005 vintage. Near clear amber brown with a thin white head. Aroma of is mouldy, oxidized (in a good way), rich toffee, butterscotch, caramel, oak, raisin, dried fruits and vanilla. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with alcohol warmth in the finish and soft carbonation.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Pours out a flat amber, copper. Aroma is apples, leathery, tannins. Sweet , fruity, plums, latent heat. Does not disappoint.
