Keg at the Three Johns, 21/03/18. Golden copper with a decent off white covering. Nose is malt forward, biscuit, stewed fruits, brown bread. Taste comprises mellow citric peel, orange rinds, biscuit, brown sugar, bready, toasted grains. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with modest bitterness. Sub par for style ... akin to a low end old skool brew pub IPA.

On tap at The Three John's Islington. Clear deep orange russet colour. It's a bit sweet some peppery hop. It's an English ipa style with white peppery hop. Fine.

Three Johns. Keg. Pretty much a clear amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and smooth, decent fine carbonation. Smooth tangy malts, some bready caramel. Tangy dried fruits. Mild floral bitterness. Trace of esters. Smooth finish brings a little orange peel. Okay, comes over like an ESB.

Initially ranked 2/5. Tasted again on the tap in France in December 2022. More subtle grape aromas. Still not too bitter. Much better.

33 cl bottle. Light amber, clear with particles. Nice thick offwhite head, undefined smell Aroma is mostly herbs and hops with slightly burnt caramel malts. Indeed tehre's a grapefruit flavor but it's not from hops, it has been added! Dusty texture, metallic bitter finish, light body. Not too disturbing after all.

330ml bottle from Auchan, Tours. Pours hazy reddish amber, large off-white head. Aroma is confidently fruity, sweet malts. Taste bears a sweet caramel malt character, some pine hop, stewed fruit. Not lacking in flavour, but has a lazy, messy feel to it.

Smell of malt. Copper colour. Aroma of malt and grain. Mildly bitter. Very light body. Very flat carbon. Where’s the IPA in this?
