Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Pale straw with a dense off-white head; sour grain aroma; sour grain flavours too, with some sweet honey and acidic citrus; dry and moderately bitter finish with a touch of grapefruit.

(Cask at Penderel’s Oak JDW, Holborn, London, 15 Apr 2009) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with biscuits, apricots and citrus. Malty, fruity taste with notes of biscuits, citrus and a dry grassy, citrussy bitterness that grows with every sip. Dry and fresh with a superb balance. Surprisingly nice and tasty golden ale.

Golden coloured body with a thinnish white head and a largely mellow look. Aroma of low a.a. hops, a light maltiness and a very subtle sweetness and citrusey scent. Light-bodied; Strong hops come out, even though they aren’t flavourful, with a good malt backbone and a very light effervescent sweetness. Overall, a decent beer - not amazing, but definitely good to try! I sampled this pint on draught at The Rake in London, England on 10-March-2007.

[Cask at GBBF 2004] An orange beer with no head. The aroma is sweet and flowery. The flavor is very hoppy - mostly aroma hops - but also contains notes of peach, oil, and grass, leading to a quite bitter end.
