Big Mama Stout est brassée à partir de 5 sortes de malt d’orge et une partie de malt de seigle en combinaison avec des fleurs de houblon Summit et Willamette. Elle est ensuite infusée à froid avec des houblons américains et du grué de cacao originaire de Madagascar. Notre bière sombre se bonifiera au cours de la première année de garde en développant des arômes délicats de chocolat balancés par une amertume modérée. Nous recommandons de la déguster à température de cave. Accords mets et bières: fèves de cacao enrobées de Laurent Gerbaud.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, roasted, cocoa, taste is similar, toffee, little fizzy.

Bottle. Pours very dark brown, almost black. Ok head. Smell is mild sweet, and some aspects of roasted malts. Taste is rather intense, very roasted, malty, sharp, mild bitterness, has some cocoa ( not to be mistaken for chocolaty ) not very sweet. OK MF and carbo. Nice

0,75 shared by mmahut at Bratislava RB Tasting, big thanks. black color, small off-white head. Smells caramel, light currant notes, plums. Limited smell. Full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Tastes plums, caramel, some sweet hops, herbs. Finishes with plums, some sweetness and sweet Pines. Nice beer but nothing stout related at all (no roast, too sweet, no spices, coffee , etc)

Dark brown body, with a medium, creamy, dark beige head.
Aroma of dark chocolate, cocoa, dark and dried fruits, some vanilla, some alcohol.
Tastes of dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa, caramel, citric hops from the background.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a quite lively carbonation.
Finishes medium alcohol warming, roasty, bitter, zesty, quite dry.
Nice one. Lots of dark malts, but also lots of hops. Not so much roastiness for a Stout though. Overall enjoyable, but nothing outstanding.

Bottle at a tasting. Really an American Stout. Dry and thin bodied, assertively hopped, lots of grassy vegetal notes. Also noticeable lack of hard roasted malts. Not bad, bud not the best either.

Bottle at tasting, Gurthnar’s place. Dark brown color with medium beige head. Roasted malt, caramel, light citrus hops, alcohol in aroma. Taste roasted malt, caramel, light bodied, citrus hops. Medium long citrus hoppy bitter finish.

Bottle. Blackish pour, white head. Aroma of chocolate, yeast and caramelised malt. Taste has sweet chocolate, yeast and some caramel. Typical belgian stout.

Bottle picked up at Dranken Geers,Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, consumed at Barry & Lynns, Wednesday 28th January 2015 Pours black with a huge foamy light beige head. Wonderful bitter chocolate, its very good the dark cocoa excellent, its malt laden/heavy there is a gentle warmth, its a lovely rich and smooth beer, a tad one dimensional perhaps but who cares on this occasion and particularly when it is as good as this. Aroma: roasted coffee and sweetness. Flavour: berries and roasted coffee. Unfortunately to carbonated. Colour: very dark reddish brown with a light brown head.

Bottle from Willems. Almost black with a lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, milk chocolate, cocoa and a little vanilla. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. Carbonation is a bit high. 291114
