(750ml bottle from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours nearly clear bright red with a small whitish head that faded quickly. Nose of quite heavy barnyard and manure funk, wet hay, pale sour cherries both fresh and preserved, lactic tang, some light cherry pit marzipan, a bit floral maybe. Flavour is moderately tart, juicy pale sour cherries, cherry skins, some earth, a bit of barnyard, lactic acidity, flowers, finishing rather dry with some minerals, soft oak, cherry skins. Moderately high efferfescence in the mouth, fairly light bodied and slick. Heavy funk on the nose here, not so much on the palate. Cherries are not overpowering and the base is moderately complex. Solid.
