To celebrate our third anniversary, we initiated a barrel project with 3 of our favourite local breweries.
Third and last of the series had to be a dessert stout! And who is better to do that other than Lupum ... We wanted to put a twist on our favourite maple stout, and here we are!!

Panda thanks to Cloin. Near opaque oily looking dark brown beer, sparse bubbly dark tan head. Smooth palate, slightly viscous, a modest dryness, decent superfine carbonation. Soft rich dark malts, very good chocolate. Dark chocolate, obvs! But enough mild chocolate to lighten and sweeten. Rich but beautifully rounded bourbon drenched very ripe fruits on the back end. Maple, mercifully, has just a bit part to play. Smooth coffee and some mellow quad like esters on the back end. Drinks very easy for it's hefty 14% abv. End result is a very dangerously drinkable beer. Well no stronger than wine these days of course but if you are new to this game and love this beer, treat it like wine. Simples!

Roast and maple. Vanilla, kind of a french toast vibe if you spilled your Jim Beam shot in there anyway. Black pour with mocha head and lacing. Bittersweet finish. Pretty nicely done, and I can tolerate this pretty well for someone who doesn't usually love big booze pastries like this. Lingering booze on finish. Tap at Outro Lado.

21/V/22 - sample @ Leuven Innovation, BB: n/a (2022-548) Thanks to Sebletitje for sharing today’s beers!
Clear dark brown to black beer, no head. Aroma: oh my! Lovely stuff going on here, smells like a dessert, lots of dark caramel, chocolate notes, vanilla, very nice! MF: no carbon, medium to full body. Taste: all very dark (almost burned) caramel, vanilla, a bit oxidized, lots of chocolate, nice stuff, sweet, good roast, bitter finish. Aftertaste: oxidized, dried fruits, sweet and sugary, lots of caramel, vanilla, more chocolate. Very good one!
