Blend of Tilquin’s draught Mûre with Rullquin, a recent experiment, tasted at Billie’s Craft Beer Fest (only the second public appearance of it after Brassigaume, if I'm correctly informed), poured by Pierre Tilquin himself. Thickly mousy, off-pinkish, remarkably stable head, cloudy, deep purple robe with ruddy, somewhat brownish tinge from the Rullquin. Deliciously lambic-y bouquet of blackberries but also sour grapes and fermenting plums, Brett funkiness (stale sweat), damp haystack, soggy brown bread, green pear, crabapple, unsugared yoghurt. Crisp, sour onset, lots of vivid fruit acidity, slight lemony edge but nothing too harshly burning, medium carbonation, tad lambrusco-like; lots of ripe sweet-sour blackberries full the mouth, soaking a soft fluffy breadiness with a noticeable hint of dark maltiness to it (bread crust, hazelnut). Dryingly tart, still utterly fruity finish, but leaving enough room for expressive Brettanomyces ‘funkiness’ to evolve, along with tannic effects keeping everything in line. I doubted if Mûre and Rullquin would work well together, but this tasting glass was a delicious proof that it does, at least for me.

Draft at Billie’s Beer Festival ‘18.  Brown with a pinkish tan head.  Aroma of funk, dry cellar, tart red berries.  Flavour is moderate sweet and sour.  Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Another nice consistency in rating! ;-)

Pretty clear dark brown beer, small creamy off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very funky, fruity, lots of blackberries all right, wood notes, some tannins. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice acidity up front, lots of berries, dry, some tannins, soft roast, some chocolate, metallic touch, bitter notes. Aftertaste: nice funky acidity, quite some tannins, pretty fruity, berries, dry finish, more roast, some coffee, mouth puckering dryness, nice one!

Pours unclear, dark reddish brown. No real head. Smell is tart, fruity midl dark malts. Taste is dry intense lambic ( funky, oaky, milk sourness). Mild fruityness. Hidden roasty malts. OK. The blend does work but is 'a bit too much '
