savoured at Bab 2016, thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours unclear brown, small white head. Smell is sweet, very, very mild booze. Taste is more booze-forward, but still balanced. Mild bitterness, orange peel, but really well blended. Good, as Always !

The newest in this interesting quad series, with lacing, medium thick, moussy, egg-white head and hazy dark burgundy colour with reddish bronze hue. Strong and perfumey aroma of toffee, dried fig, dried orange peel and indeed some orange liqueur but a bit sherryish too, wet wood, candi sugar, pear, vanilla-like tannins, dried banana. Sweet fruity onset (date, raisin, banana) with candi sugar sweetness, bit honeyish, thick fluffy caramelly malts, drying wood and retronasal tannins in the finish along with liqueurish alcohol, quite strong and a bit tiring, but nevertheless pleasantly warming rather than astringent. Grand Marnier is limited here and more evident in the nose than in the mouth, but to my personal taste it should not have been more pronounced anyway; by all means this is a rich, interesting, tasty quad of high class.

Sampled at Brugge beer festival 2016. Murky brown with a tan head. Aroma shows off the grand marnier upfront with woody barrel notes, overripe dark fruit, toffee, caramel and sweet malt. Flavour is heavy sweet. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Sampled bottled @ Bierfestival Brugge 2016. Thank you for sharing! Lower shade of dark brown with an off-white head. Nose is sweet boozy sugar, spirit, caramel, sugar, mocha, less thick than expected. Taste is basic sugar, candy caramel, dash cacao, mocha, sugar, sweet mocha, low warming spirit, candy, low oak, touch warming spirit. Body is lower alcohol, mocha basic sugar. Could have been thicker, less nuanced than expected. Good beer but I was bracing myself a bit for Grand Marnier which I love but didn’t really get here. Basically I missed the orange. I am still not sure if Grand Marnier is aged with the sugar, essence of bitter orange etc. in the barrel or if it is added afterwards if the second is the case well than this is basically just Cognac BA Préaris Grand Cru. I need a bigger pore possible to muse over this one but I am terrible at writing down secondary rating notes. I would love to see a version of this with bitter orange extract added & possible even more sweetness (it already has plenty of sweetness), some cacao nibs would be cool while I am musing here. I think that I might have enjoyed this one more if I wasn’t looking so much for Grand Marnier. This is simple but good & enjoyable.

6/II/16 - on tap @ Brugs Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2016-113) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing today's beers!

Clear purple brown beer, creamy beige head, pretty stable, little adhesive. Aroma: wow, yes, that's interesting stuff going on here! Bit yeasty first, caramel, sweet, funky, raisins, bit sugary, very nice! MF: ok carbon, full body. Taste: alcohol touch, sweet and malty, lots of dried fruits, alcohol, caramel. Aftertaste: some banana, bitter, alcohol, sweet, fruity, yeast.
