Cloudy light amber color with frothy short lived head. To the flaws that are generic to this series, the N. 5 adds rubber and plastic aroma. Highly carbonated, with almost no residual sweetness, boozy character, some flavor of vegetables again.
A mess.

Sampled from bottle thanks to Joes. Clear at first, murky after pouring in the yeast. Smell and taste lightly malts, lightly alcohol, not that much sherry imo... A bit dull actually, especially compared to other versions.

Sample @ local tasting @ brouwerij Oirschots bier. Golden orange colour with a small white head. Smells malts, alcohol, sweetish, green twigs, barnyard. Tastes malts, sweet, slightly fruity, slightly wine, some wood and some red fruits. Full body but not that heavy alcoholic, soft carbo.

Hazy orange golden beer, small white head. Aroma of malts, somewhat sickly, notes of sewerage. honey and caramel. Quite sweet flavour, malts, light tart/ sickly, over-ripe fruits. Bit sugary finish.
The other ones I’ve tasted so far of this series were actually really nice, and I like sherry, especially sherry-aged whisky. This brew however was a bit of a disappointment to me. Maybe it was a bad bottle that was served?
(Sample from 75cL bottle @ Modeste Bier Festival ’12)

Draft @ Modeste 2012 - draft samples - I do not know whether this was because this was draft or for some other reason by whilst I enjoyed the others I have tried so far - this was frankly rather disgusting - darker orange, light amber, some white fungus looking head - smell is a bit like dish-washing liquid with honey, caramel and dark sugar - tastes of cleaning agents, booze, oranges, candy, sugar, some sherry I suppose - lower carb, sticky - think I had sherry once and didn’t really like it all that much - a secret aversion of sherry or perhaps a dislike of sherry might be playing me parts

Draught Small white head over orange, hazed beer. Sweet, oranges. Difficult to pinpoint sherry, but its fruitiness might well point into that direction. Sweet, meaty, liqueurish. Feels/tastes as if some syrup was used. Finish has a bit of walnut(syrup) in it. Very viscous, well-bodied, slick-syrupy feel. Walnutflavour keeps hanging around; warming. Interesting, but I’m not sure whether the fact that I cannot mark the sherry is a good, than well a lesser thing.

75cl bottle from Geers shared with Tomaz.
