Stella is crispy, hoppy and refreshing with every sip. The absence of filtration allows the fresh flavours of malt and Saaz hops to shine through for a naturally vibrant and refreshing taste. Best enjoyed chilled.

660ml bottle, from Morrison's. Pours hazy golden with a white cap. Aroma: bread, yeast, grassy. Taste: light sweet & light to moderate bitter, pale malts, biscuit, grassy, herbal, some pepper spice. Medium body with foamy carbonation. I liked this. Just shows that all the flavour is filtered out of the regular version

Big boy bottle from Tesco, served ice cold. It pours lightly golden with a decent fluffy white head. The aroma is grassy, leafy, green veg/cabbage and some sweet grain. The taste is crisp, dry, touch of bitterness, green, leafy, grass, that green veg, nip of spice, underlying sweetness, grainy, bread and something kind of metallic with a dry, spicy finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy. A big step up from the regular version for sure. Nicer body to it.

Bottle next door, thanks to Michael, 12/06/22. Very lightly hazed golden with a good sized lasting white head. Nose is pale malts, cereals, grains, straw, faint citric notes. Taste comprises pale malts, cereals, papery notes, grains, light breads, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. OK logger bier.

I think I'd need to try this and regular Stella side by side to tell the difference. This maybe is a bit more distinctly hoppier? A little zesty? Otherwise it's just a lager. It's fine, I'll happily drink it, but nothing to get excited about.

Bomber @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, March 22. Thanks Simon for this Asda purchase. Hazy Stella. What a time to be alive. This is actually ok, and surprised us all. Softer on the palate, lighter bodied, but with a familiar stella lager sweetness lurking beneath. Again, it's ok.

Monday 7th March 2022, monthly beer exchange in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Usual 5 suspects sharing beers and talking bollocks. Cheers Simon for the 660ml green bottle of this. Light haze to the golden body, snow white crown on top. To be fair this was a lot better than we all expected. I've certainly had worse 'craft pils' than this.

Served from Perfect Draft. Rocky white head left a spotty cover on an unclear still golden body. Malt & yeast aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with a tingle on the back. Grain, yeast & citrussy tastes with a bitter finish. Not very impressive.
