Death of the Sun came the day the world went black. A beast of an Imperial Stout aged for over a year in the cosmic dark of Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels. Notes of layered malt, dark fruit, and chocolate tame its heat. A beer so good you will rejoice in its perpetual darkness.

Very, very chocolatey to balance out the bourbon. Very different BBA stout but delicious.

375ml bottle from Tavour. Dark brown pour, small bubbly head, fades to flat. Aroma is boozy and sweet, bourbon, chocolate. Taste is sweet, then the bourbon barrel takes over, chocolate behind, roast malts and coffee notes. Doesn't change much with warmth, maybe more boozy than sweet. Perfect on this chilly evening.

330ml bottle. Poured a clear almost black colour with a short-lived, frothy tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, big bourbon. The flavour is moderate sweet, light liqourice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, molasses, light oily, light chocolate, oaky, boozy alcohol bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.

12.7 oz. Aroma has notes of bourbon, coconut, chocolate, wood, vanilla, cinnamon. Pours like motor oil with no real head, just a collar of beige foam. Taste is moderately sweet with a bitter edge.

Bottle picked up from mmhhh... forgot where consumed at home Thursday 13th January 2022 listening Marc Riley on 6Music we just had a very nice Goulash with Rice. Pours black with a fast disappearing head that went so quick I cannot describe it. Some liquorice, actually quite a bit of liquorice, the bourbon is really up front, however there is something a little off kilter here, I get something that I can only describe as a light cheesiness but even then I'm not sure. Thick oily moutheel, boozy. It's almost just about okay but something isn't quite right and I need to read one of my beer books to look at flaws as this isn't an obvious one to me.

Flaska från Hopt. 2020, 12,5% abv. Svart med khaki-färgad krona. Lakristoner, tjärpastill och Lakrisal i förgrunden. Låg sötma, mycket fatkaraktär, lagom stram. Hänger kvar i munnen. Snygg. Ingen sliskig sötma eller smaksättning, bara stout och fat.
