500 ml bottle. Pours cloudy pale orange with a fluffy head. Pear, apricot, clove, hints of marzipan, banana. Biscuity sweetness, slightly dry. Full to medium bodied, oily texture, lively to soft carbonated, dry warm finish. Nice!

ABV: 7.0%. Cloudy - hazy medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, pale malt, sweet malt, light oxidation - cardboard. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, pale malt, fruity yeast - grass - floral, sweet malt, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20190927]

Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is white sugar, herbal, a bit honeycake, mild oxidization (the bottle is not the freshest anymore). Taste is white sugar, honey, mild grains, earthy. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Alright.

Swing top bottle @ In de Wildeman. Blonde, hazy. Floral maltyaroma. Malty yet dry flavor with floral notes and a hint of butter cookies. Satisfyingly hopped. Good stuff.

0.5 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', best before May 2019. Slightly hazy, golden amber with a medium large, dense, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, gently floral and slightly grainy aroma of dough, honey and some dried apricot. Gently sweet, malty, slightly bitter, gently fruity-grassy taste of honey, grains, some grass, light citrus and a touch of dried apricot, followed by a short, moderately bitter, gently grassy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Really well-hopped Doppelbock, by far not as one-dimensional as pale Doppelbocks often are.

Flasche (50 cl) von der Klosterbrauerei, bestellt über Biershop Bayern. - Orangegelb, trüb. - Nase füllig malzsüß mit weicher Hefe und ganz mildem fruchtig-herbem Hopfen im Hintergrund, Noten von Heu und Pfirsichkernen. - Antrunk breit hellmalzig und sehr süß, beinahe zuckersüß, leicht honigartig, aber durch herb-fruchtige Noten (Bittermandel, Aprikose) aufgelockert. Mild rezent, sahnig weich im Mund. Im Abgang deutliche grasige Hopfenbittere, die sich mit der immer noch beträchtlichen Malzsüße reibt. Schwach krautig-herber Nachtrunk. - Sehr malzsüßer Fastenbock mit enormem Restzuckergehalt, trotzdem nicht klebrig süß, sondern dank perfekt abgestimmter fruchtiger Herbe sehr rund und enorm süffig. Eigenwillige aber auf ihre Weise vollkommen überzeugende Bockbier-Variation.

Bottle @ In De Wildeman, share by bierkoning, with benzai, joes & TheJvd. Cloudy golden blonde color. Nice white head with good retention. Aroma’s: grassy hops, grain, light fruit. Caramel sweetness retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet, malty. Medium bodied. Finishes dry and slightly bitter. Solid German heller (doppel) Bock.

Bottle shared by bierkoning @ In de Wildeman. Hazy yellow color, medium sized off-white head that lasts for quite a while. Smell and taste some banana, a bit sweet. I don’t get much more really. A bit nicer than moest doppelbocks I’ve had though.
