86 Lagér is a barrel-fermented beer made with lager and Brettanomyces yeasts. It’s a blend of 12 month California and Spanish Red Wine barrels and is lightly dry hopped with Saaz and Strisselspalt. The resulting blend has floral hop notes, balanced red wine fruitiness, bright citrus, and stone fruit aromatics.

Bottle pour at Barrel Fest 2025, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma has tons of brett funk, wood, and some spicy bitter hops. Flavour is dry, with lots of dry wood, plenty of brett, and spicy Saaz. Not combo of bittering hops and brett. Dry finish. Very good.

375ml bottle. (2020 vintage). Pours a cloudy orange-blonde with a thin, fizzy, short lived, white head that fully dissipates. Aroma of wheat malt, funky brett, peach, oak and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of wheat malt, peach, nectarine, orange, oak, faint red wine and floral hops in a dry, tart, brett finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Refreshing and delicious, but could use more ageing. The barrel notes were very faint.

Bottle: Poured a blonde color lager with a large foamy head. Aroma of tart notes with light Brett and oak notes. Taste is also a mix of trat notes with some light oak notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Enjoyable but lacks complexity and hard to distinguish vinous and hoppy notes mentioned on the label.

A hazed blonde lager with a thick frothy lacing white head. In aroma, nice crisp biscuit malt with light Brett, light lactic, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with light Brett, light lactic notes, light acidity, very nice. On tap at The Monolith.
