For this summer twist on our criquet, we let it ferment for a few months on our house brett culture and then infused it with a generous dose of rhubarb and berries.

Bottled 750ml. -at RBESG 2023 Grand Tasting. Unclear orange coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, berries and brett in the nose with whiff of tangerine. Berries, light fruits, notes of tangerine and quite tart finish.

I guess bottle at RBESG 23 grand tasting. Murky orange body, off-white head. Peachy notes in the aroma, rhubarb and berries too. Bit wild and lightly acetic overall. Dried apricots in the taste, with nice light rhubarb and a solid sourness. BIt too sour, but works!

Couleur ambre oscillant sur le cuivre, col fin blanc-rosé.
Arôme joue le jeu des baies et de la rhubarbe - cette dernière apporte une note terreuse fraîche. Feuille délicate sur le citronné - verveine, herbes de montagne.
Palais est sur un côté sour marqué, fruité/baies rouges avec un apport léger terreux de la rhubarbe qui donne un fini végétal, fruits noirs - mûres - un peu plus herbacé-suret sur la fin avec l'apport de la gentiane et l'armoise.

Rhubarb sour by La Source in Brussels, thanks tderoeck for sharing at Ghent Beer Fest. Waferthin, off-white, dissolving and eventually vanishing ‘head’ (or whatever was left of it) on a clear rosy-orangey peach blonde robe. Aroma of stewed rhubarb (more than raw rhubarb), cranberry juice, pomegranate, rosé wine, unsugared yoghurt, redcurrants, Roosvicée. Very fruity, tart onset, crisp with ripe berry sweetness balancing the rhubarb sourness; softly tingling carb, supple mouthfeel. Mild lactic sourness accompanies a smooth cereally core while the berry and rhubarb flavours take the upper hand and fight for dominance till the end – eventually pairing quite well with each other, adding fleshy and juicy effects to the finish. Elegant, summery, accessible, very fruity sour, a bit unassuming perhaps, but refined and well made.
