Mixed Fermentation Ale with Local Plums
A simple base beer brewed with wheat, fermented and conditioned with a mixed culture of yeast and bacteria, and aged in oak for one year. Refermented for 12 weeks with plums, harvested by us from a family orchard in May Hill. Intensely plummy with almond and marzipan complexity. Clean, fruity with a noticeable oaky structure to the beer – delicious!

Hazy peachy colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have obvious tangy fruits and a nice Brett note. Almost leathery. Aftertaste has a perfumed floral fruitiness.

Hazy pink. Aroma is funk plum lime mirabelle sour stuff. Taste is sour acidic plum and funk. Quite round and easy. Not bad.

Bottle. Looks like watered down plum water, murky. Smells like olive and stone and fruit. Taste is nicely sour. Very front heavy, but then round, even a bit sticky, ends in soap. Not sure if I like it.

Bottle picked up from Deya Fermentation Taproom and shared with Munich Ratebeer Tasting group and consumed at Jonas's 2nd August 2022. Looks fabulous light peachy edging towards pinkish colour with a blushed white head. Super refreshing, tart but soft tart, plums are nice but well integrated, Jonas is spot on when he describes a little green soapiness, I get this but it doesn't detract, nice yeastyness, funky and just super summery.

2021 bottle. Pink/peach haze, white pink head. Tart plum skin, flowery soap and stonefruit notes. Medium mellow body. Light mealy, plum cake, restrained fruity, soda, flowers and stonefruit finish.

Bottle. Hazy rosé color with white head. Aroma is delicate plums, sweetish and fresh, not too complex, but good flavour, slightly lieblich, a tiny bit soapy. Taste is the same, plum skin, mild oak, good.

750ml bottle. Hazy peachy colour, small white head. Aroma of plums, mild oak and funk. Taste is the same, very plummy, oaky, a bit of funk, hay, tart acidity. Didn't get any of the mentioned almond/marzipan notes at all yet, but this was really nice.
