Mahogany with no head. Fruitcake, bold molasses, herbal, tobacco. Sweet throughout. Full bodied. Finish is warm and sweet and lingers. It’s fine but it feels a bit pedestrian.

Bottle. Hazy, brown in color with a skim of a head. Aroma is fruitcake and grains. Taste is dried fruit with a herb after taste. I like it.

Bottle picked up from Bierothek, Nürnberg and consumed at new home, Manghlam, Innernzell, Bayerisch Wald in the company of Jude and Baz, shared this with Baz Wednesday 2nd August 2023. Pours hazy dark brown with a small head. Malty with some dark fruits, plums and perhaps cherry. There is a little bit of tobacco and wood, boozy and warming but all told not a great deal going on and a rather forgettable experience.

dark brown colour, moderate sized creamy beige head; aroma of dried sour cherry, prune, soy sauce, some apricot jam, burnt sugary and minimal chocolate notes; taste his basically the same; I am surprised that this beer has such a low rating

27/12/2021. Bottle with ITFCfan & ITFCDan at the post-Christmas blues share. From Craftbeer-Shop.com. Pours dark brown with a maroon tint and a frothy beige coloured head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, toffee, berry, bread, molasses, dried fruit, liquorice, prune, treacle. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Full bodied, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Complex. A little harsh with an alcohol burn but I liked it.

330ml bottle. Opaque, dark brown colour, some beige bubbles on top disappear immediately, a very small ring of tiny beige bubbles remains a the bezel permanently. Sweet-ish, caramel malty and fruity aroma, notes of caramel, dark caramel, rock sugar, dried dark fruit, raisin, sultana, prune; minimally yeasty spicy hints of marmite, subtle hints of treacle; the sweet-ish aspects are hardly reproducable/redetectable after the first sip, taste and aroma merge, or better, taste and aroma become identical, complete adaptation on the aroma side solely (well, maybe one could infer solely from complete adaption; no convergence, unilateral approximation). Taste is minimally tart, dry woody and vinous fruity, notes of blue grapes, unripe dark berries, blackcurrant, blackberry, blue grape parings, pomace, a touch of dried fruit, raisin, sultana, plum, prune, a yeasty spicy touch of marmite, underlying hints of treacle without sweetish aspects, a minimally tannic, oaky touch as well. Creamy to viscous texture, smooth and soft palate, soft to flat carbonation. Not really deep but passably multifaceted - decent sipper.
