Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout

Original Sin Bourbon Barrel is a chocolate treasure-trove with deep boubon barrel overtones. The dark malt complexity of this imperial stout gives way to notes of milky mocha coffee, vanilla, and dark chocolate. Layered in between are soft, gentle aromas of warm caramels and praline with big flavours of oak and walnut from one year in wood. It’s long, lingering finish is utterly sinful.

--Bottled at PBF XIII-- Near black, small beige head. Aroma of chocolate sauce and custard. Very sweet with full body and viscous mouthfeel. Syrup, custard, alcohol and chocolate sauce on sterile, syrupy malt. Inky bitter finish lots of booze.

Pours black, no real head. Scent is full, soy, milder than expected chocolate. Mild Barrel profile. Taste is full, chewy, soy, chocolate, nesquick, mild to hidden barrel profile. Lovely, yet the added value in quality, doesn't corelate with the added value in price when comparing this one to the basebeer.
