Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout
Original Sin Bourbon Barrel is a chocolate treasure-trove with deep boubon barrel overtones. The dark malt complexity of this imperial stout gives way to notes of milky mocha coffee, vanilla, and dark chocolate. Layered in between are soft, gentle aromas of warm caramels and praline with big flavours of oak and walnut from one year in wood. It’s long, lingering finish is utterly sinful.

Svart med beige skum. Lukter røstet malt, sjokolade og vanilje. Fyldig, myk og søt. Smak av vanilje, mørk sjokolade og noe vanilje.

Medium body, sweet, a bit boozy. Nice barrel, dark chocolate, some mildly roast coffee. A bit of kahlua and bitter roast in the finish. The roasty bitter is in no way overwhelming, but would be more balanced toning it down. Very nice, but not exceptional

375 ml waxed bottle, Cardinal Pub, Stavanger. ABV is 12.5%. Black colour, small tan head. Boozy aroma of fusel alcohols, molasses, bourbon, oak and vanilla, also notes of roast malts and chocolate. Rich and warming mouthfeel. Very sweet flavour, notes of roast malts, treacle, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and oak. I recommend sharing the bottle.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with little beige head. Aroma of sherry, bourbon, fruity chocolate. Tastes sweet with little bitterness. Medium bodied, fruity and sweet finish.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, coconut, caramel, vanilla, oak, meaty, taste is similar, quite salty, a little sweetness, rich and chewy.

Fra fat på Lervig Local: brunsvart uten skum. Suveren og ytterst raffinert aroma og smak preget av fatlagringen, et lekkert eksempel på at det er verdt å vente på det beste. Bourbon, Sachertorte, whiskymarinerte svisker og mørke kirsebær, vanilje og lekre dessertchokolader. Farlig mersmak, og virkningen er silkemykt saliggjørende.
