Kirta has a special meaning in Bavaria and is traditionally celebrated with good food, music and a strong beer. Our Kirta beer is brewed using the classic decoction process, in which parts of the malt grist are boiled and then added to the main brew – this ensures a strong, full-bodied flavour. (Bottled in week 37)
It is then stored in cool tanks for 7 weeks so that the malty sweetness and the fine hop bitterness are perfectly balanced. A harmonious beer that combines tradition and craftsmanship – ideal for Kirta time.

Bottle from Lidl NL festbier box. Color: Clear amber, off-white head. Aroma: Malty, caramel. Taste: Malty, caramel, light roasted toast, bread. Light floral hopbitterness. Long lasting caramel finish. Over moderate sweet. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Nice.

Bottle at home in Hackney - part of the Lidl festival pack. Pours a fetching orange-gold, effervescent, with a small, foamy off-white head. Medium sweet flavour with notes of toasted malts, a little caramel, bread, low bitterness. Light to medium bodied with active carbonation. Nicely balanced, malty finish, more toasted bread, caramel notes, a hint of leaf, biscuit. Really solid festbier.

Foamy off white head left a creamy top on a deep amber slowly carbonating clear body. Sweet malt, butterscotch, caramel & buttery aroma. Medium to full, smooth great & sticky. Syrup, jam, malt, caramel & spiced tastes with a lightly hopped finish. Nice.

Bottle. Liggles. Clear pale coppery amber. Lovely soppy just of white foam. Nose has crusty bread. Fruited tea loaf. Touch of caramel. Soft herb hoppage. Taste is semi sweet with some vine fruit kind of dryness. Super smooth with rolling carbonation. Bit of leafy bitterness to finish. Best one out of the box (this is number eight I think) so far. Lovely stuff.

Bottle from the Aldi/Korea Oktoberfest box, from.the former's Brooklands branch. Aroma has caramel light smoke, grains. Clear amber. Thin foamy translucent white head. Caramel.... burnt caramel sweetness. Light grainy bitterness. A sour citrus periphery. The sweetness gains traction, with more caramel, honey and dough. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Nice, I just don't think I'd want to drink loads at a Fest.
