33cl Blik. Diep donkerbruine kleur, beige kraag. Medium zoet, turf, rook, vanille, bruine suiker, gekonfijte vruchten, donkere mouten, chocolade en caramel, meer turf in de boozy finish. Redelijk bitter, volle body. Erg lekker, Lagavulin in biervorm.

Can sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Brown. Lots of peated whiskey, iodine, sweet, caramel, wood, alcohol. Not my thing.

Can at home, during the cold snap, 11th December 22. Pours a dark mahogany brown. Aroma is peat, caramel, liquor and wood, heady. Taste is fantastic, peaty, liquor and wood, whiskey, caramel, malty, very interesting and delicious sipper but the fire, lovely
A strange one to be honest. Smoky lagavulin notes, but kind of hides the barley wine flavours. LCI

0.33 l can from the brewery's web shop, best before December 2026. Probably clear, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, rather smoky-medicinal, gently fruity aroma of molasses, raisins, prunes, peat, ash and some fruity whisky. Rather sweet, malty, fairly smoky-medicinal, gently fruity taste of massive peat, ash, seaweed, molasses, raisins, prunes, vanilla and whisky, followed by a very long, gently bitter, boozy and smoky-medicinal finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Heavy and intense sipper, super peaty, overall quite harsh but other than that another great BA beer from Kees. Has become very reliable, no more hit and miss as in the past.

Borefts XII. Day 1. Almost clear deep reddish amber beer, small pale tan head. Light smooth palate, fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. The malts are a little thin and dry but redolent with cream and caramel and toffee. Rich peaty whiskey, nicely fruity and a little spicy. Not overly peaty thank God. Dry finish. Pretty tasty.

On tap at Borefts. Pours a dark brown with light head. Aromas of peat, caramel, root beer and bready malts. Flavors follow same. Peat is somewhat intense with big iodine notes.

Dark brown with thin head. Aroma has medicinal and peaty notes. Flavour malty and peaty. The barrel does it's job well.
