To make the most of the autumn, we decided to age part of the Blackbock in three different whiskey and bourbon barrels. The Barrelbock is a blend of the beer from these barrels of Deanston, Glen Elgin and Weller Wheat Bourbon (Buffalo Trace). This gives the beer a special character with notes of vanilla and oak.

Donker bruin bier met schuim. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van chocolade en duidelijk de whiskey. Mondgevoel is wat waterig.

Can. Blackbock (2021 version I presume) aged on three different Whiskey nd Bourbon barrels. Color: Very dark, almost black, thin beige head, Aroma: Dark malt, roasted malt, some caramel and coffee, Bourbon, vanilla hints. Taste: Roasted malt, Bourbon, Whiskey. almond, boozy notes although it's only 6.3% ABV. Umami. Some hop too. Just over medium body, just under average carbonation. Moderate to over moderate sweet and moderate hoppy bitterness. Like Blackbock this Bock fortunately is not as sweet and malty as a lot of big brewery Dutch Bockbeers are, which is a big plus for VandeStreek.

Op tap bij vandeStreek. Vrijwel zwarte kleur, romige beige kraag. Ruikt heerlijk, vol in de bourbon en whisky, vanille, krentjes, licht boozy. Smaak blijft helaas ver achter, vrij dun, wat gebrande mout, donker fruit, hint van koffie, hint van bourbon, bitter. Lichte body.

Can shared by Johnny. Brown to black color, small head. Smell and taste malts, dark malts, barrel in the aroma perhaps, but in the flavor I don't really get it. Still, I like the flavor and aftertaste. Weird style name but I like it.
