Bottle split at the optimal climatic conditions tasting, Hazlemere, thanks to Tipple 11/08/21. Hazed amber to orange with a good sized light beige head. Nose is tangy fruit esters, light acidic nostril tinge, vinous, berry skins, damp oak. Taste comprises stewed fruits, light fruit balsams, vinous, wood must, funk, berry skins. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow acidic ripple. Ok BA sour but lacks some depth for the hefty ABV.

Tasting at Chez Cloin. Thanks to me. Hazy amber beer, patchy pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, low fine carbonation. Modest soft tartness. A little red wine berries and some mild dry wood. Dried fruits on the soft finish. Aged and fairly flat but quite drinkable.

Bottle from Secret Santa, thanks! Dark amber color, no head. Vinous, oaky aroma with hints of yoghurt, lemon and vanilla. Malty, slightly sour oaky flavor with vanilla, sherry, lemon, salt and cognac. Amazing complexity, moderate sourness. Absolutely brilliant!

4oz draft pour at Rustico - Alexandria. Poured a deep amber color with a small, foamy white head. Aroma was light balsamic notes, grapes, wine, light vanilla notes. Flavor was similar, with very minor balsamic notes. Red wine character comes through, but isn’t too harsh. Always interesting beers to drink from these people. --- Beer merged from original tick of Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien Grand Cru (2009) - Vin Jaune on 12 Sep 2015 at 13:16 - Score: 6.
