Bourbon & Brandy BA Stout.
Sjaak goes around the brewery giving thumbs up to the brewers, whenever they do something that pleases him. Then suddenly shows up whenever there's a tasting, especially when there's a blending session for the new Barcode or Guild beers. He’s the mythical creature that appears whenever cans open. Smart guy, right?
For this beer in his name, we had to step up the game.
That’s why we dug deep in our barrel amusement park and found the best Bourbon and Brandy barrels.
Making a refined and layered beer with hints of vanilla and chocolate. As the glass slowly warms in the palm of your hand, it develops a beautiful bouquet of flavors. Just like Sjaak’s jokes. Especially after a couple of glasses.

A black beer, no head. Aroma of wood, dried fruits, plums, coffee. Taste of strong dark roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, boozy finish.

Zwart bier met bruine schuimkraag die snel wegzakt. Smaak is krachtig, warm, en bitterzoet met iets van cognac, een vleug whiskey en wat donkere chocolade, vanille en koffie.

44cl Blik van de Moersleutel webshop. Zwarte kleur, bruine kraag die snel verdwijnt. Erg boozy, veel brandy, bruine suiker, rozijntjes, gebrande mout, wat vanille, eik, prikkelend en zoet maar ook flink bitter, wat pure chocola en koffie, bittere finish met meer booze. Medium tot volle body.

On tap at The Scrapyard, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is extremely rich, with intense brandy barrels, light bourbon, and a big roasty backbone. Flavour is monstrous and concentrated, with extremely rich brandy barrel, followed by bourbon to a lesser degree, and all supported by a rich roasted malt base. Harmonious despite how over the top it is. Delicious, extreme BA impie.

Can picked up from Beyond Beer webshop Hamburg and consumed at Wohnmobil Stellplatz, Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz, Saturday 29th April 2023. Pours black with a tan head, the barrel ageing is noted straight away. Chocolate, malts, coffee and a little vanilla also show but it's the barrel ageing notably the bourbon that really show. Thick, smooth and creamy in the mouth again some milky chocolate, roasted malts, bourbon also and a little roasted coffee. Wow this is an easy drinking beer for 14%.
