Sample at Palace Hall, Malmö December tasting (14/12/2024) - thick rich chocolate, layers of caramel and toffee and fudge malty sweetness, full bodied, bourbon rip into the dark sweet malty lingering finish. Lovely stuff.

Tap at Prague Beer Fest 2024, thanks... someone? Brown-black body, off-white head. Coffee, cocoa and vanilla all in evidence and quite pleasant in the aroma. Soft, slightly lean taste, more coffee, cocoa and vanilla, ending slightly bitter, which makes for a mild record scratch, but is it nice? It damn well is!

Pours black, no head. Scent has a clear barrel profile. Medium coconut and chocolate. lovely. Taste is full, sweet, cocoa powder, intense (nesquick), mild chocolate bitterness. Mild booze. Fairly hidden barrel. Not greatly balanced.

33 cl bottle @ Hatanpää tasting room, BBE 27.07.2024 Aroma has sweet chocolate tones and cooca. Flavour has mild alcohol tones, sweet chocolate and some cocoa. Good pastry. Barrel is barely noticeable, this tastes like a typical pastry.

Pastry stout from this Polish brewery in the historic region of Silesia, my first full glass at this year's Billie's Craft Beer Fest edition. Thinnish and open, mocha-beige head, jet black robe. Aroma of strong coconut (toasted and fresh), chocolate sauce, vanilla, pecan nuts, cappuccino, peanut butter, toffee, almond. Sweet, dense onset, refined carb, candied dates, thick toffeeish malt base adorned with a thick layer of dark chocolate; lots of retronasal vanilla and of course coconut throughout, the latter in a genuinely 'nutty' but also sweet Bounty-like way so very convincing. Warming, long, bittersweet finish, sweet bourbon with peppery effect, a tad astringent even, but the generous chocolateyness, coconut and vanilla make up for a lot. Intense and 'baroque', almost over the top like any pastry stout, but very well made in this genre.
