Gentle and tastefully layered. Beautiful chocolate and the smallest hint of sour cherries.
As far as you could call a 16% freeze distilled stout refreshing, this actually comes close to that! Some of the brewers have whispered this is their favorite of the Six Years Anniversary brews. Don’t tell the other family members!

Tap. Black as night with a tan head. Nose is huge chocolate-coffee punch with stone fruit hints. Taste is big on chocolate and coffee again, some roasty notes, quite a bit of booze but nothing too offensive, also some acidic fruity notes to counterbalance the sweetness. Closes with a warming chocolate-coffee and cherry finish, it’s got a huge body and soft carbonation.

44cl Blik. Zwarte kleur, dichte bruine kraag die spontaan oplost in grote bellen, heel bijzonder. Flinke dikke slurrie onder in het blik. Frambozen, zure kersen, gebrande mout, wat kokos, stroop, hint van vanille, alcohol, drop, licht aards, bijna geturfd, koffie, bitterzoete finish. Dik, stroperig, vol. Een beest van een bier, deze ga ik wel voelen morgenochtend.

Donkerbruin tot zwart bier met veel schuim wat snel wegzakt. Smaak is bitterzoet en krachtig met iets van koffie, wat geroosterd brood, cacao en kersen.

Intensiver, süß malziger Start. Hohe Viskosität, Schokolade, Kakao, etwas Himbeere. Intensiv malzig bleibend, der Alkohol ist, trotz seiner Stärke, im Aroma nur nebensächlich Thema. Die Süße ist ausgewogen. ein Hauch Vanille, langer Nachgeschmack. Super! 8/13/11/13/12/13

(Draught at Foeders, Amsterdam, 17 Feb 2023) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with coffee, dried fruit, cacao, raspberries and a touch of alcohol. Malty, roasted, vinous taste with notes of coffee, tar, dark cherries, burnt sugar, chocolate and a balanced cacao bitterness. Full body, sweet. Thick, heavy, boozy. Subtle, it is not. But really rich and tasty. Quite warming. Very nice.

Can split at the Soapy returns tasting, Mother Arch ii, thanks to Kenny, 27/04/23. Black with a well appointed khaki cap. Nose is chocolate, candied orange peel, dark malts, booze, toffee. Taste comprises toasted brown sugars, candied fruit rinds, chocolate pot, fruit cake mix, dates, figs, light spice, dried red berries. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost Solid sipper for the big boost on offer.

Bottle shared at scopey homecoming tasting at kernel. many thanks. A dark, mahogany brown coloured pour with a a halo of tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, mid roast, soy, tangy cinnamon, sticky brown sugars. Flavour is big and boozy, cinnamon, brown sugars, white grape sherry. Palate is medium sweet, woody, light tang, moderate carbonation. Boozy.
