Freeze Distilled Red Velvet Stout.

Gentle and tastefully layered. Beautiful chocolate and the smallest hint of sour cherries.

As far as you could call a 16% freeze distilled stout refreshing, this actually comes close to that! Some of the brewers have whispered this is their favorite of the Six Years Anniversary brews. Don’t tell the other family members!

Can. Opaque dark brown beer, good dark tan head. Palate is smooth and soft and slightly viscous, decent fine carbonation. Soft dark malts, rich and creamy, creamy dark chocolate. A little coffee liqueur. Nicely judged raspberry, not tart but not quite candy either. Finishes with abundant vanilla that blends seamlessly with the dark malts and nails the cakey vibe. Finishes smooth with everything coming together. Spicy linger. Wow, nailed it! Red Velvet cake delivered in a boozy setting and it works a treat!

440ml can at tasting. Monster of a beer really with 16% abv. Poured near black in color, thin off white head. Licorice, roasty nose, boozy, sticky, raspberry chocolate flavor. Nice in small sips.

Oily brown body. Sour, woody, cherry & vinegar aroma. Soya sauce, cherry, earthy, balsamic vinegar, marmite & umami tastes. Not for me.

Keg at Casc. It pours oily jet black with a tiny tan cap, which dissipates. The aroma is sweet, thick, slick, oily, umami, chocolate cake, heavy sweetness, vanilla cake frosting, but also loads of tangy red fruit and berry and heavy unctuous red wine character. The taste is slick, thick, oily, coast the month, up front it's rich and roasty, charred oak, umami, coffee grounds, spice, liquorice, cacao, then it sweetens up with cakey vibes, chocolate, tangy red berry, red wine, mild acidity, oak spice and mild vanilla with a slick finish. Fulsome body, light carbonation and oily mouth feel. Filthy and gun stuff.
