Bottle thanks to Ken at the 0-65% tasting. It pours deep cloudy ruby-brown with a thin beige head. The nose is roasted malt, coffee, caramel, sticky sweetness, chocolate, fudge and ovaltine. The taste is sweet chocolate, caramel, fudge, dull bitterness, wood, umami aspect, light astringency and alcohol warmth that creeps up on you. Finishes sweet. Medium body, fine carbonation and soft mouth-feel. Too sweet for my particular tastes.

Bottle at the 0-65% Tasting, London - thanks to Kenneth. Pours murky brown with a fine, tan cream head. Dark, bready malt nose, hints of age, deep dark sugars. Big sweet flavor with rich bread, moderate chocolate, light roast, brown sugar. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish with dark sugars, chocolate. Good.

The 0-65 tasting. Four guys, fourteen beers, average abv 12.9%, 65 mins! Almost opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Super smooth light palate. Very light for it’s abv. Semi sweet dark malts, quite smooth. A little vanilla and milk chocolate. Subtle dark fruits underneath. Pleasant and easy going.

Bottler from metro. Frothy off-white fair mostly deminishing head. Black colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Strong candis notes. Long moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate. not a very good IS.

Bottled. A brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, and soy sauce, leading to a dry finish. Not an Imperial stout.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours an almost clear orangey brown (nowhere near pitch blach as the description claims!) Solid sweet malty and nutty malt aroma. Rich body, loads of malt, overripe fruit, caramel and nuts. Boozy finish. Completely lacks the roastiness to be an Imperial Stout, but it’s a nice Doppelbock! 160912

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Hazy deep red with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dried fruit and alcohol. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish with warming alcohol. Sticky. 150912
