Hancock Black Lager er som vore andre mørke øl brygget med lagermalt. Dette giver i modsætning til pilsnermalt en mørkere farve, samt en mere fyldig øl. På trods af den større fylde, er alkoholstyrken den samme som vor pilsnerøl, Høker Bajer.

50 cl draft. Clear light brown body with off-white head. Flavour is roasted malt, caramel and watery.

Clear light brown. Caramel aroma with light nuts. Has a light body, hints of caramel and a sweet finish. Fairly simple beer.

33cl bottle at home, as 1876 black hancock lager. clear dark brown, thick smooth beige head. aroma of corn, cereral, caramel, slight syrup. flavor : faintly burnt caramel, faint flovery hops, roasted grains, brown sugar, tasty and "dry".

Bottled @ Olfestival 09 pre-tasting. Clear copper color, short head. Aroma of some hop, bit caramelly. Tastes like a dunkel at least, but quite boring.

Bottle from some shop in Copenhagen. Drank at the airport just after we checked in, but before going through security. Deep amber with lasting creamy beige head. It’s an ok polotmavy style beer, with some fullness from teh extra malt, soft. Some sweetness. Fine and quite drinkable.

Draught at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen. Clear dark amber, small head. Light papery nose. Medium sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Bready and a bit sticky, low hop rate. Almost without bitterness. Very drinkable, but anonymous.

Draught @ Lord Nelson, Copenhagen. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Roasted malty caramel aroma. Smooth creamy roasted malty caramel flavor. Roasted malty caramel finish.

Half pint on tap at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. Deep mahogany body with a rapidly fading, off-white head. Light malty smell. Dark caramel taste with a bite of liquorice. Clean tasting. Not memorable (30.05.2008).

Deep ambery brown colour with mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is caramel malts, grainy and quite sweet. Aroma is grainy, some hops, mild caramel and also earthyness. Also some mild roast and hints of riped fruits.
