This beer is made like a geuze but not in the Brussels area obviously. There are no grapes in Sonic Brew but this beer has been aged on wine "lees" in barrels.

75cl bottle @ Belgian Beer Geeks Winter Gathering. Thanks Maakun for this! Pours a cloudy gold. Aroma brings a floral wild air with mild grape hints Quite a confident wild character with a massive acetic hit, and a lip-smacking tart natural wine feel, which makes sense now that I see its been aged on wine lees. Really enjoyed this, though was a bit savage for others. One of my beers of the evening.

Sonic brew - Raisin Sauvage

Bottle shared at Brewver Belgian Winter Gathering. Hazy pale yellow color, no head. Smell and taste are sourish, rhubarb-ish. Oh well. A small glass is drinkable but more than that, no. 5-6-6-5-3,5

Bouteille 75cl @ Belgian Winter gathering 01 March 2025 – Tim’s place, thanks Maarten.
Bottled 13/08/2022.

Pours unclear blonde, from a clear glass bottle that looked like unfiltered applejuice. No head. Scent is funky, intensely tart , like wine can be sour - so not nessesarily the best tartness... Mild acetic. Sharp. Taste is intensely tart and dry, acetic, medium high to high carbonation. Lacks the complexity of a lambic, and grape most makes it... #notgeuze . However, still a fun one to find, just had hoped for it being a bit more balance. To acetic and straight forward tart and dry.

Bottle shared, thanks. Hazy golden. Strong funk, lemon, wheat, Basque cider, glue, vinegar, oak, wheat, apricot. Medium sweet and solid sour. Medium bodied. Quite rough but decent stuff.
