From a 330ml bottle on 22/5/2024. Pours a deep brown with virtually no head. The nose features chocolate, caramel and brown sugar. The taste follows suit, adding a hint of vanilla and soy, with a mild roasty bitterness at the back. The mouthfeel is lightly syrupy, the carbonation soft. Very nice.

Tap at Zil verne. Full body, medium carbonation. Med-high sweetness, medium bitterness, med-light warmth. Pleasantly rich and intense malt flavours relative to its modest strength - at least Pohjalla-wise modest that is. Lots of chocolate, moderately syrupy, a bit of tobacco and coffee. The vanilla is quite light, as it should be. The warmth could be subtler, but it is rounded and adds to the character. Overall I like it quite good.

17 December 2023. Christmas Beer Evening with the lovely Anke! Bottle from Mr. Hop.

A: hazy black, thin, beige head.
A: vanilla bean, chocolate sauce, cappuccino, brownie.
T: sweet milk chocolate, cream, vanilla, bitter mocha.
F: soft earthy hops, vanilla, bittersweet sugared coffee.
P: medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.
Just a tad too sweet, but enjoyable.

Bottle. Really gets a lot better as it warms up. Aroma is dark malts, dark chocolate, molasses, vanilla. Medium to full body. Flavour is rich and quite sweet, a spicy and chocolatey character to the malt base. Some caramel, chocolate fudge notes, rich warming vanilla. Nice porter.

Bottle. Black with a coat of tan head. Aroma of spiced chocolate, roast, caramel. Syrupy with vague, rather sludgy palate. Sweet with caramel, some chocolate but then bitterness struggles on through. Not my sort of thing.
