Humbling patience, intense care but also fortune telling, these all are abilities our brewers utilize during the brewing process of our most challenging series of beer. The inception of our barrel-aged stouts is very similar to our standard beers, except we aren’t brewing the beer to taste great immediately, but instead we brew it so it grows to taste good in a two years time. Before we put them in the barrels, our stouts are very rough, bitter and frankly not that easy to drink, it’s the time and wood, that smoothens them out and makes them an awesome experience. After a three months fermentation we age our stout in barrels after American Bourbon, Scottish whisky or Jamaican rum for at least 18 months and after they are finnished we taste all the barrels ready to be harvested and divide the into several blends. The best barrels we blend into pure forms, whereas for additions we choose barrels according to the character of the chosen ingredient. For example as coconut smoothens out, we can choose a bit rougher barrels as a vessel for it. Barrel harvest this year: 34 barrels, 9 blends. Taste them all. 375 ml, alc 13% vol

Bottle 0.375l, almost three years aged. Black, opaque. AROMA- strongly roasted, touch of coffee, strong alcohol, rum. FLAVOR- fairly sweet, lightly bitter, lots of alcohol, roasted, touch of coffee, rum. Fuller bodied. I don't like this one very much, it's too sweet, too strong alcohol, only touch of coffee, insipid at all.

aroma of roasted malts, glue, wood lagering, coffee, natural licorice. quite closed in on itself, not as heavy as many of the other ones i have tried in this series. Flavor is super nice. roasted malts, coffee, coconut, dessert chocolate, licorice. brown sugar. tastes like a bourbon barrel aged imp stout. coffee only adds a little bit of coffee bitterness and taste. flavor is well rounded and really nice, it's only the aroma that is a little bit boring with this one.

Bottled 375ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him & hrabren, thanks! Pitch black coloured, small brown head, coffee and light alcohol in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, light caramel and touch of brownies with noticable alcohol. Rather warming finish.

0.375 l bottle thanks to Marko who brought it from Prague, shared with Ogi and him. Dark brown to black. Intense coffee aroma, toasty, roasty, a touch of spice. After awhile dried fruit emerges. Quite sophisticated and balanced. A touch of alcohol. Smooth, soft, alcohol hidden, brownie, cocoa, coffee soaked biscuit, some fruit such as prunes, some vanilla. Full body, nice nutty and roasty coffee in the finish.

Bottle from Base Camp, shared with Hrabren and Ogivlado. Blackish dark brown body, no head. Hmmm... smooth, slightly lighter aroma, coffee, soy sauce and bourbon / raisins. Creamy, milk caramel-like, almost buttery touch. Smooth, coffee-driven taste, dry, not sweet really, not too bitter, bit minerally, hefty dose of bourbon - caramel-buttery really. Warming and a bit alcoholic. Details from excellence really.
