Gold with a frothy, white head. Grassy, grainy aroma. Drinking outside in the wind made sniffing difficult. Pleasant, crisp bitterness, lightly herbal and faintly citric. There’s a mild honey & white bread sweetness underneath. Medium bodied, good chewiness. Refreshing. Fresh, hoppy feel despite being near BBD. Good.

11th October 2021; Biererei Bar & Vintage Cellar, Berlin. A bit of a session. First up was a draught glass of this (as Mager Bartholomaus Fest Beer at 5.3%). Thin white head on a golden body. Malty front to the aroma and taste, bready more than 'sweet'. An interesting Fest Beer all round, mild fruity notes sneak into the taste late on.

Pottensteiner Schlüggla, Fläschchen von Schmitt's Allerlei, Pottenstein. - Dunkelgoldgelb, klar. (Neubewertung: 15.8.2021.)

Bottle. Pale golden color. Bready soft grassy flavor. Medium to full bodied. Just a hint of butter in the aftertaste. Hints of bread dough and butter in the aroma as the beer warms up. Very Franconian.

*Old rating. Best before 19.04.11. Rated as "Pottensteiner Schlüggla". Malty fresh and grainy beer. Nice bitter, nice grainy with malts and hints of bread! Nice.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks avrashi. As Pottensteiner Schlüggla. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of graininess and green apple (acetaldehyde). Sweetish flavor with some graininess, slightly sourish apple and a bitterish finish. Quite light-bodied. Strange. Drinkable but not great.
