Towering yellowish head over chestnut-coloured beer. US hops, dry wood, some alcohol, dry hopping seems indicated. Wood, cacaopowder, oak, alcohol. Really complex, yet balanced. Very slick/alcoholic/waroming; near viscous. Excellent Barley Wine. Another Hornbeer they can give me any day - if not in any quantity.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a huge but collapsing orangey head. The aroma has notes of spicy hops, malt, berries, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wood, alcohol, prunes, over ripe fruits, and caramel, leading to a dry woodt and alcoholic finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours amber with a slight haze and an off-white head. Fat caramel in the nose with only a vague whiff of wood. Medium body, extreme carbonation - again - burned caramel, discreetly woody with some hop presence in the finish. Rather superfluous really. Hornbeer really seems to have hit a bad streak lately with unnecessary and extremely overcarbonated beers. I hope they can return to form at some point. 100810

Bottle, at KØ-10. A hazy, orange-golden beer with a nice beige head leaving lacings. Sweetish and fruity nose with a good hoppy addition. The flavor is sweet and fruity, some tropical fruits and a decent hoppyness. A little sour touch too. Medium to full body, finishing with a nice bitterness and fruityness. A pleasant and easy drinkable beer with the alcohol well hidden. 100506

7th May 2010. Copenhagen Beer Festival. Slightly hazy red brown beer. Light soft palate, fairly dry and very airy. Sweet toffeish malt. Some subtle red fruit underneath. Finishes soft and dry. So airy it was hard to rate! Oh - and a nice label!

Bottle at KØ10. Mild cheesy aroma. Hazy brown colour. Small stable tan head. The flavour is quite sweet with a little alcohol. Good hop flavour, cheesy, grassy and nice.
