Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Almost black. Maple syrup in the slaightly spicy aroma. Malty sweet, roasty slightly spicy flavor. Licorice, anis and coreander. The spices are not dominant, the beer is quite drinkable.

Tasted as 'Dark Christmas';dark brown colour, medium sized beige-ish head, which disappears quickly; aroma and taste of moderate dried sour cherry, dark chocolate and some red wine-ish notes, much less bodies than expected based on its ABV, otherwise it's ok

Bottled (as Grauballe Dark Christmas). Slightly hazy coppery brown colour with a small beige foamy head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is raisins, some slight alcohol sweetness, chocolate and toffee. Flavour is similar with some spicyness and yeast. Quite pleasant, though the spices dominate the flavour quite much.

500 ml bottle, as Grauballe Dark Christmas, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 7.3%. The glass on the label promises a black beer, but the beer inside is actually copper to brown coloured, with a huge off-white to beige head. Some sediment in the bottle, making the beer murky brown in the end. Strange aroma of rotting fruits and berries, star anise and caramel. The flavour is somewhat better than the aroma, fairly sweet and malty with caramel and hints of chocolate, also some fruity and even vinous notes - and too much star anise.
