This robust, dark brown ale gets its rich flavor from seven different malts and three types of hops. The addition of hand-toasted oats and a generous portion of molasses give the Pullman Nut Brown Ale an incredible smoothness and quaffability.

Bomber from Archer Liquor. Pours a very dark brown with a smallish dark tan head. Aromas of dark malt, nuts and treacle. Full bodied with frothy carbonation. Flavor is treacle, dark roast malt, and some nuttiness. It’s bitter, and that seems to be from hop. Finishes a little gritty/dirty/earthy, a little coffee, and nicely nicely. What else can be said. It tastes good.

22 ounce bottle shared by mreusch. Pour is clearish brown ruby with a 2 inch tan head. Head is fluffy, creamy. Aroma of oatmeal, coffee roast some vanilla tobacco earthy notes. Taste is roasty chocolate maltiness, bright pine hoppiness. Nice mineral earth tobacco floral. The flavors are nicely integrated, and quite drinkable. Palate is silky and nicely mouth coating. Thanks for sharing this one Matt.

(10/14/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Flossmoor. Very dark brown to black color with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, some dark fruits and coffee notes. Sweet malty flavor with roastiness, nutty notes, some coffee and caramel. Medium to full-bodied. Nice stuff.

Thanks to valpoaj for sending this my way - pours more like a porter than a brown ale - dark ruby, nearly black, with a tan, two-finger head, that settles to a small film and lace - the aroma is fairly sweet, with a lot of maple and molasses - the toasted oats are apparent, and give a slightly roasty quality to the aroma as well - the roasty character is more pronounced in the flavor, and lends some coffee bitterness and an almost tobacco-ish leafy quality as well - the molasses’ sweetness swells up from under that, and becomes quite prominent, almost too much so - a bit of maple, caramel, and a bit of nutty character - caramelized sugars and toffee in the finish - this is a bit too sweet, but a tasty brown ale none-the-less.

Draft. Well, after sampling what they had on tap, this is the one that went home with me and a friend. Good English-style hop bitterness and complex shades of coffee, nutmeg, maybe even hazelnuts and prunes... it's just a different taste with each sip. The glass I'm having out of the growler right now has a burnt coffee taste to it. Chocolate malts apparent, a roasty malt smell on top of a hop aroma and a warming alcohol presence, this one is a winner.

Not my best notes: Malty, nutty, good flavour development. An enjoyable brew. Wish I could be more helpful but festival notes get kind of pathetic sometimes.
