Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Roasty aroma with chocolate, tobacco, coffee, cocoa, roasted malt, touch of mocha. Moderate bitter with a light sweetness. Above medium body. Solid Baltic Porter, choco and coffee vibes, got that tobacco in there.

(Draught at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam, 11 Aug 2023) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of black bread, coffee, cacao and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, black bread, liquorice and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a slight sweetness. Rich and well balanced Baltic porter. Very nice.

Pours a very dark (but not quite opaque black) colour and a small beige head that doesn't last long. Aroma's of roasted malts, coffee grind, dark chocolate. Retronasal it's sweetish, dark chocolate, roasted malts. Flavour is moderate sweet and light moderate roasty bitter. Medium bodied. Light prickly carbonation. Long finish with more and more roast and increasing bitterness.

Black beer, lively tan head. Smells of aniseed and malt. Flavour has toasty malt, some dried fruit, a bit of chocolate, maybe a dash of coffee. Rich and warming with a nice balance.

330ml can. Clear, darkest brown colour with weak ruby shimmer and small, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Roasty, chocolately, minimally spicy, dark malty and sweet-ish, minimally fruity aroma, notes of dark chocolate, couverture, some coffee, a touch of dark toffee, whiffs of treacle and pumpernickel, hints of black pepper tickle the nasal mucosa. Taste is sweet-ish and roasty, minimally bready, dark malty, notes of pumpernickel, treacle, dark chocolate, a sweet-ish, fruity touch of date, fig, even minimally smoky, ashy hints of bacon wrapped plum; minimally peppery and mineral finish bares a slightly warming, alcoholic touch as well. Dissolved sugar enriched, minimally oily, watery texture, minimally dry, simultaneously rather cloying palate, medium, scattered, not really prickly but somehow stiff carbonation. Quite rich and manifold, diversified, well balanced - good.
