Den blonde is een zoetig speciaalbier met een hopbitter, fruitig aroma. Het vloeit uit in de mond, en heeft een bittere nasmaak.

Bottled. Blonde, foamy head. Honey and lemongrass in the aroma. Honeyish, citric grassy hopbitter flavor with a hint of cardemom. Delicious beer!

Blond session beer, in its original form, i.e. brewed by the former owner of the Gaverhopke brewery, when it was still very low profile (I had to drive there by car to get my hands on their beers). Thin, loose, off-white, unstable head, peach blonde colour, cloudy. Fruity and estery aroma, pear, apricot, straw, yeast, cardboard and H2S (rotten egg)... Fruity taste, light maltiness, sweetish with insufficiently low hoppiness for balance, caramelly finish. Too sweet, infected and unbalanced, as litterally all the other beers I bought that day. Gaverhopke has clearly improved a lot in the hands of the new owners.

Hazy gold amber beer with some sediment bits! Suddy white head. Caraway nutty malt and a little orange on the nose. Semi soft and semi dry palate. Creamy malt, sherbet orange with a definite zing and a dash of lemon. The malt is a little saison like. Finishes semi dry. Tasty little beer that slips down easy.

33cl, no BB date. Dorée, claire devant trouble vers mi-bouteille, col blanc.

Bottle that Hughie very kindly passed on when we recently met at The Chequers, Son of Sid brewpub, cheers for this Hughie. Consumed 15.10.10 Pours lemony yellow, the aroma is a bit of sherberty lemon bon-bon’s with a little sourness in the mouth. Taste is also quite sherberty lemon bon-bon’s some light sourness and fruit, touch spicy and yeast also showing. Fine. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov14 3.3

Pours gold into a snifter. Bright white head quickly recedes to slurry surface. Hot lemon and caramel aromas. Crisp and boozy with sour lemon upfront and a lasting tart apple finish.

33cl bottle @ Delices et Caprices, Brussels. Pours a unclear orange with a small white foamy head. Dust, yeast, sour, fruit. Sour dry end. Not very pleasant and slightly infected!
