CBJ Tasting. Can. Semi clear deep amber brown beer, small tan head. Airy palate, semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Thinnish dark malts. Mildly tangy dark chocolate. Fruity dark chocolate. Light powdery dark chocolate finish. Not ticking many boxes for me.

Can shared at CBJ - London. Pours black-brown with a creamy, khaki head. Medium sweet flavour with vague dark malts, some vague berries, raisins, a little earth. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish. So so overall.

Half-pint, draught at the Mash Paddle brewery and Tap Room. Shared with Finn. Spotty lacing from a remaining fawn-coloured head, black as pitch. Roasted dark malty nose, nuts and caramel. Grainy chocolate leads the way, the flavour character is joined by nuts and a caramel bite. Plain roasted ending, dry, and long-lived. Likeable. (Bermondsey, London 10.02.2023).
