The distinctive brewing specialty, once invented by the Cottbus master brewer Gustav Schultze, contains less alcohol. A malty-round taste experience with clear liquorice and caramel notes, which are combined with aromas of figs and dried plums.

# 4697; 8/2025. Caramel, fruity, roasty aroma. Opaque brown body; tany head with low retention. Roasty, celar, dried plum, fige, sweetener. Full body; low carbonation. Very sweet dark lager, not a Schwarzbier. 0,5 l, bottle, brewery, Zhorjelc (Upper Lusatia, Germany).

Sehr süß, hinten bitter, kaum Alkohol. Eigentlich wie ein Malzbier. Nachgesüßt. Danke.

Bottle. Almost black colored. Soft roastaroma. Soft roast flavor, sweet with lactose. Caramel. Odd schwarzbier, but not unlikeable.

0.33 bottle, thanks Bert. Nice head, dark brown, not quite black enough. Aroma is very mild, hint of malt and some sweetness. First sip: how can a 3.8% beer be this sweet? (Read label) artificial sweeteners, 3x. Decent sweet malty taste if a bit artificial. Body feels almost too thin for this magnitude of sweetness (which clings to the palate) and that throws it off further... A beer for people who like Karamalz and don't like beer.

500ml bottle; BB 7th Feb 19, drank in my garden on 1st Oct 18. Last beers of seven shared with the wife (all German). Liked it, almost. Clean brown body, beige head that hung around. Caramel maltiness in the nose and taste, body fine for a 3.8% ABV brew. Could have done without the saccharin maybe.

Another mass produced German dark lager with a bad reputation. But is better than almost every North American version. There's nothing wrong with it at all, it is clean, crisp with a medium-low roast. Netto Dresden
