3rd LCRBM. Flowery hops and citrus in the aroma. Melon flavor, hoppy with pineapple. Short melon hopbitter aftertaste. Alcohol is exceptionally well hidden.

Bottle drunk 5/11/17.
Soft, peach-tinged golden body shows a good clarity and large, white head with moderate retention.
Hmmm, I guess things got vegetal. This thing was aged properly by yours truly and while aging is usually a recipe for disaster, I’ve had some delicious Unibroues that were far older than this, not to mention this is 11% and a golden beer (which I feel oxidize far less problematically than dark ones). The aroma does have an odd combo of cotton candy, bubble gum and vegetal notes, probably actually autolysis. Otherwise, the strong pepper from their house yeast is here with low clove and still a good base of honey-rich malts. Alcohol is well-concealed.
Flavor-wise, I think the yeast autolysis is really dominating. While there is good phenolic character on the end in the form of pepper and other light spice, with strong fruity esters (apple, strawberry, pear, light peach), there’s just too much musty, earthy, nearly rusty flavor. Tired, but still amply carbonated with a soft, slick texture.

Bouteille. [notes 2005]

Bottle - Vintage 2002 - Stone fruit and honey. Clearish gold with a small white head. Sweet fruity honey notes, light minty notes and a long sweet finish. Great for the age.

Cloudy amber beer. Fruity zingy malt nose - nice! Light dry palate. Low carbonation. Like a Belgian Tripel but stronger and less of that sweet malt. More fruit before an aniseed alcohol finish. Typically eclectic Unibroue and quite drinkable.

750ml bottle pours a hazy, dark yellow with a thin, white head. Looks like pineapple juice. Nose of tropical fruits, candy sugar, yeast. Flavor is sweet, tropical fruit, pineapple juice, nail polish. Chalky, medium bodied, sticky finish. Definitely mellowed out some.

Celebrated my 800th review with this discontinued brew that has been in my cellar, waiting for a good occasion. Bring in the new year (originally rated January 2007) !! On the cork, 2-6 is writen and on the back of the bottle 12-12-2002. Not even open, I can see lots of sediments floating around in the bottle. Pours a hazy golden-orange colour with a average white head that is fizzy and bubbly. Surprisingly, because of its lack in creaminess, the head disappears rather quickly. Carbonation though is quite active, with tiny bubbles all over the glass. Because of this, a small ring stays around. Beautiful fruity aromas with the Belgian yeast. Plums, apples, bananas, honey, mild nuts and spices. The alcohol is nowhere to be found, not in the nose, nor in the taste. Good creamy mouthfeel and close to full-bodied. The flavours start on the sweet side and end up on the bitter one. Lots of fruits and spices, but so well blended, that it is hard to detect them easily. Some peaches, citrus, banana cake, apples and hop. I am really thankful I could taste this one and suggest you jump on it, if you see a bottle of this just sitting there in a store (just like I did... back in 2004).

Hazy orange with a medium off white head. Sweet yeasty aroma with fruity and malty notes. Flavour was sweet with malt, grainy, yeasty and caramelish notes. Finished sweet.
